Banned: Remember Donald Trump’s most ridiculous Twitter posts
Whether you like him or not, Donald Trump definitely made Twitter more interesting. The source of numerous memes, the U.S. President’s Twitter account was a source of controversy from the moment he announced his campaign in 2015. It all culminated into Twitter suspending Trump’s account permanently on Friday evening.
In a statement, Twitter claimed they “permanently suspended [Donald Trump’s account] due to the risk of further incitement of violence.” Citing the events of the unruly protests at the Capitol on Wednesday, Twitter plans to “enforce its policy against ban evasions to ensure that Trump does not circumvent his personal account’s suspension.”
We don’t know if Twitter will ever reverse their ban on Donald Trump’s account, but his tweets still live on in screenshots online. To memorialize the loss of his account, here are some of the most ridiculous things Donald Trump has said on Twitter over the years.
Most iconic meme?
You can’t discuss Donald Trump & Twitter without discussing the infamous “covfefe” incident. To this day, we’re still trying to figure out how he managed to misspell coverage so poorly.
Coming for CNN, literally
It’s an open secret Donald Trump hates CNN with a burning passion. But the minute he tweeted out the gif of him body slamming CNN, a whole new type of hate was born.
While the random spike in deaths is definitely questionable, it was quickly proven that these numbers came from health care workers not properly recording deaths after the storm. Not to make Trump look bad, like he thinks.
His final tweets
After his @RealDonaldTrump handle was banned, Trump hopped on the @POTUS handle to make his feelings clear. Near immediately, the tweets were taken down and any other account directly linked to Trump was banned as well.
Many believed the reason Putin & Trump got along so well is because Putin is trying to sneak his way into American politics.
Don’t know your own country
In case you’re not familiar with American cities, Kansas City is in fact not in Kansas, but in Missouri. You’d expect the President of the United States to know what major cities are in each state.
Not how global warming works
Global warming is a real threat, even if places that should be cold and getting snow are cold and getting snow.
Big button contest
“My button is bigger than your button.” We never thought we’d see our president treat buttons like teenage boys treat their genitals.
If only he knew
Consistency matters. At least Donald Trump knew he was probably going to be kicked off Twitter at some point in the future.
No one wants to see two guys who are definitely not in their best shape go at it. Especially when they’re both supposed to be leaders of the “greatest country on Earth.”
