Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker has revealed the unlikely inspiration to his romcom episode “Hang the DJ”: Spotify. Yes, although many assumed the episode referenced Tinder, Brooker admitted it was the music streaming platform’s algorithms which led him to ponder: “What if there was a service that was a bit like Spotify for dates?”

Not long to go until Viacom’s entertainment channel Spike relaunches as Paramount Network. The channel’s executives & showrunners revealed what’s in store for the cabler, and let’s just say if you’re into “hour-long dramas” and “premium storytelling,” you’re in for a treat.

Star Wars actor Liam Neeson called the Hollywood sexual harassment scandal “a bit of a witch hunt”, adding “there’s [sic] some famous people being suddenly accused of touching some girl’s knee and suddenly [sic] they’re being dropped from their [sic] program.” No doubt his opinion will be the source of much debate in the days to come.

A commision led by attorney & academic Anita Hill has been formed in an aim to address the mounting sexual harassment claims continuing to plague Hollywood. According to Deadline, “a lot is happening”, with more to be revealed next week.

Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) nearly didn’t get cast in Blade Runner 2049 for a very strange reason – because he was too young. Speaking for the film’s Blu-ray special features (which is out today, by the way), Bautista declared, “Throughout my experience in Hollywood, I was either too big or too old; I had never been told I was too young.” Take it as flattery, Dave!
