The Beguiled is set in Virginia during the civil war, as a wounded Union soldier arrives at a school for young girls, protected from the horrors of the outside world. Expect sexual tension, dangerous rivalries, and broken taboos. Stars Nicole Kidman (The Others, Moulin Rouge!), Colin Farrell (In Bruges, Miami Vice), Elle Fanning (The Neon Demon, Super 8), and Kirsten Dunst (Melancholia, All Good Things).

Michael Showalter’s rom-com The Big Sick is based on the real-life courtship of Kumail Nanjiani (who stars as himself), a Pakistan-born aspiring comedian, and Emily Gordon, a young grad student. An emotional tug-of-war story, the film has been making waves since its debut – Amazon splashed out a reported $12 million to secure it for US distribution. Make no doubt about it, this is one to see. Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks, Fracture), Holly Hunter (Song to Song, O Brother, Where Art Thou?), and Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond) star alongside Nanjiani.

Jessica Williams (Hot Tub Time Machine 2) stars as an aspiring young playwright living in New York City. Burned by a bad breakup, she’s encouraged to go on a date with the recently divorced Boone and the unlikely duo discover how to make it through tough times in a universe obsessed with social media. Chris O’Dowd (Calvary, Moone Boy), Lakeith Stanfield (Get Out, Straight Outta Compton), and Noël Wells (Master of None) co-star. Written and directed by Jim Strouse (Grace Is Gone, People Places Things).

The Bad Batch is set in a post-apocalyptic future, as a young girl is deemed no longer suitable for society. The social norm for this, it so happens, is to be put out to pasture in the rugged Texas wasteland, home to a swarm of bloodthirsty cannibals. The hotly-anticipated follow-up to A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night from Ana Lily Amirpour stars Suki Waterhouse (Insurgent, Pusher), Jason Momoa (Conan the Barbarian, Game of Thrones), Diego Luna (The Terminal, Elysium), Jim Carrey (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Truman Show), and Keanu Reeves (The Matrix, John Wick).

Hare Krishna! (Abramorama)

Jean Griesser (Mother Ganga) explores the life of Srila Prabhupada, the Indian Swami who arrived in America during the turbulent 1960s and ignited the worldwide cultural revolution, commonly known as Hare Krishna. The director makes use of archival footage, taking us through the height of Beatlemania to the hippie mecca of Haight-Ashbury, providing an unflinching look at the prolific and, at times, controversial Swami that began it all.
