After fan outcry, 'Among Us' is coming to Xbox. It was only a matter of time the game hit consoles. Read all about when you'll be able to play on Xbox here.

Is ‘Among Us’ on Xbox yet? When can we play on the console?

With Among Us coming to Xbox consoles this year, it’s indeed an exciting start to 2021. The massively popular online game has taken the world by storm in 2020, becoming one of the fastest growing multiplayer games with over 100,000 estimated players every day, according to DigitalTrends.

After launching on Nintendo Switch last year, fans of Among Us have high expectations for the Xbox version of the game. Tweeted a month ago by the official Xbox Twitter account, Among Us was teased to be launched on Xbox in the new year.

Xbox Game Pass

Among Us is set to launch via the Xbox Game Pass service. Xbox Game Pass service is  “a video game subscription service from Microsoft for use with its Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles and Windows 10, as well as Android devices via xCloud.”

Being a cross-platform video game, Among Us would pair perfectly with the newly released Xbox series X/S by Microsoft that have been selling out like hotcakes.

Microsoft also announced the news about Among Us on its blog, saying “one of the biggest gaming hits of 2020 is coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC, as we’re excited to announce that InnerSloth’s Among Us will be coming to the service soon.”

Cross-platform play

One of the finest features of Among Us is its ability to feature cross-platform play between multiple platforms. So far, Among Us is available on iOS, Android, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, and soon-to-be on Xbox.

Although there hasn’t been any news from InnerSloth regarding this matter, there might be hope for Among Us to be launched on PS4 & PS5 as well – if the Xbox version is a hit.

There are no qualms about the success of the imposter-centered game though – along with having a great year despite the global pandemic, Among Us had won the Best Multiplayer & Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2020.

The Airship

Another release awaited us in addition to the Among Us-Xbox collaboration. InnerSloth dropped an exciting snippet of a new map in Among Us at The Game Awards 2020. Titled “The Airship”, the big reveal took the spotlight in the online fan community of the game.

The short-but-fun clip of the Airship unveiled exciting changes in the new environment, including unique tasks & operations, giving Among Us a brand-new spin. Featuring ladders & elevators, the new map is based on the “Toppat Clan Airship” from the last game created by InnerSloth – the Henry Stickmin series.

Previously, InnerSloth had plans for a second version of Among Us but it was later cancelled. Instead of Among Us 2, they decided to focus their efforts on the new map and fixing bugs in the original game.

Release date?

The Airship will be joining the list of other existing Among Us maps like The Skeld, Mira HQ, and Polus. But when will it be released?

Similar to the game launched on Xbox, Among Us creators have mentioned an indefinite release date of “early 2021”. So to answer the question of “is Among Us on Xbox yet?” – no, not yet. However, we assume it will be sooner than later *fingers crossed* seeing how the popularity of the game keeps climbing up and the crewmates keep asking for more enthralling gameplays & features.

2020 was a breakthrough year for Among Us and it looks like an even bigger year is ahead for the social deduction multiplayer with sensational upcoming releases. Are you ready to delve into the world of “sus”(picious), preferably on your Xbox console?
