We may not have flying cars yet, but there are many futuristic cars available now. Take a look at some futuristic cars that actually exist.

5 Futuristic Cars that Actually Exist

Twenty years ago, smartphones, tiny computers, video conferencing, and instant messaging were all fanciful science fiction inventions. Not anymore. They are so common now we hardly give them a second thought.

How about all those cool inventions we saw in movies and on TV–like flying cars and bionic body parts? Do they exist? Well, flying cars haven’t been invented yet, but some modern cars are so futuristic we felt they deserved to be written about. These cars have been brought to life in our time and are poised to shape markets tomorrow. Let’s look at 4.

The Lamborghini Egoista

For $117 million, you can own the Lamborghini Egoista. Why is this car so expensive? Well, it is inspired by jet fighter planes and this is reflected in its machinery, interior, and exterior.

The futuristic car is designed to deliver a high level of aerodynamics without having to lift off into the air. It has a cockpit instead of a driver’s seat. The words “NO STEP” are written on its bumper, and there are warning lights on its front and side.

The Koenigsegg One:1

This racecar can hit speeds of over 273 miles per hour with over 1161 horsepower. It’s no wonder car enthusiasts love it. As you drive the car, you’ll feel what X-Wing pilots probably feel. It features carbon-ceramic brakes, scissor-hinged doors, and an exhaust that looks like it belongs on a spaceship.

But it’s the interior that makes it look like it’s from the future. A spaceship-like dashboard, neon-hued accents, and racer seats make driving it an unforgettable experience. But it isn’t cheap. If you want one, you’ll have to pay $2.9 million.

Devel Sixteen

The Devel Sixteen doesn’t resemble a real car–both outside and in. It looks like a car you would see in the latest sci-fi thriller. But it’s a real car, one of the world’s best supercars. It can hit speeds of up to 348 miles per hour.

The supercar’s exterior is stunning, a blend of a Ferrari and a space shuttle. Its interior is equally futuristic. However, only one unit has ever been created and sold. Devel says there’ll be more in the future, but you may have to shell out as much as $4 million for one.

Lykan Hypersport

The Lykan Hypersport was intentionally built to have a futuristic image. The first time you see it, you’ll wonder if you’re looking at a 3D image or a real car. Its futuristic dashboard has a holographic display that’s both fully interactive and fully customizable.

The display is like the spectacular sci-fi displays seen in Tron, Star Trek and other major Hollywood movies. But the car is exceptionally rare as only seven units are produced annually. You also have to be rich to buy it as prices start at around $3.4 million.

There are many technologies today that match the inventions you might have seen on the screen. We now have 3D printing machines, cloned animals, edited genes, and we can travel in autonomous cars. Technology has even made it easy to access services instantly, like car title loans, online. If the future will build on what we have, we are off to a pretty good start.
