123movies down? Here are the best alternative online streaming sites

Streaming website 123Movies has finally been removed, and movie lovers are struggling to find a new site to watch all the top shows and movies. Many terrible 123Movies replicas swooped in, but no site came close to the original.

We’ve gathered a list of the best free and premium alternatives for your viewing pleasure.

Free alternative

Soap2Day

Soap2Days is a free organized streaming platform that has top quality graphics. The website lets you select content from genres like action, horror, adventure, musicals, biography, drama, comedy, soap operas, and more.

Popcornflix

Currently only available to the United States and Canada, Popcornflix is a free streaming site which mostly features independent films. Popcornflix offers free ad-supported streaming with decent quality content with few adverts standing in the way. A kid-friendly movie-streaming version of Popcornflix also exists. Our only problem with Popcornflix is that it doesn’t offer subtitles.

Roku Channel

The Roku Channel is one of our favorite alternatives as you don’t have to have a user account or need a specific device. The streaming service provides captions and high quality movies on your PC, TV, and mobile device. Unfortunately, no mobile application of the Roku Channel is available, but the website works just fine from anywhere.

Crackle

Crackle is a streaming website and mobile app for viewing films anywhere at any time. Their mobile app helps viewers pause and continue watching at any specific spot.

Unfortunately, Crackle’s website has many adverts and locating top mainstream films can be difficult. Crackle may not be as organized as other sites, but it has good video quality and a wide variety of movies and TV shows.

IMDb TV

IMDb TV has created a platform with a quick and easy search bar to find a TV show or movie. Users have to sign into an account to find original and mainstream videos. The only catch with IMDb TV are the adverts that pop up during your streaming experience.

Premium alternative

Netflix

Netflix is a global online streaming service for movies and TV shows. The platform no longer offers a free trial so users need to subscribe for one of their three payment plans.

Netflix’s basic plan charges $8.99 per month and allows users to stream with only one device at a time. The basic plan is also limited to standard definition. The Standard Netflix plan charges $13.99 and allows users to watch with two devices at the same time. The quality for these movies and TV shows are in HD (High Definition).

With the Premium plan Netflix users can share their account with four other viewers for $17.99. Netflix provides a diverse range of our favorite TV shows, documentaries, soap operas, comedies, and even Netflix original films.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is another international streaming site catering to your country. Films and TV shows will vary from country to country. The subscription service requires users to pay $119 per year or $12.99 per month.

Disney+

After Netflix became an instant streaming hit with many Disney shows and movies, Disney+ arrived. Disney+ streams original Disney shows and movies. This includes franchises like Marvel and Star Wars. Users will need to pay a fee of $6.99 per month or $69.99 for the year.

Hulu

Hulu is a streaming option with a large library of premium shows and movies. Hulu’s basic plan is only $5.99 per month, while the premium package costs $11.99 per month with no adverts. However, Hulu doesn’t include a wide range of options as it provides Hulu on-demand content similar to another local U.S. streaming site, CBS All Access.

Hulu and Disney+ users will be happy to know they have created a conjoined bundle for $12.99. This bundle also includes ESPN+ for a month.

Thanks to these streaming sites we can keep up to date with new films and TV shows. Get your popcorn ready and get streaming!
