After jamming to her singles, we were so happy to speak with Ladi Rosa about music, her approach, and her goals in the coming years.
How did you decide to pursue music as a career?

Did you take music lessons when you were growing up?
To many people’s surprise, I have never taken music lessons growing up. But I have started taking lessons.
What instruments do you play?
-I don’t play any instruments, but I really would love to learn how to play the guitar.
Who are some of your favorite musicians?

What songs get you most inspired to create?
-When I listen to “Obsessed” by Mariah Carey I can really hear her message and it makes me want to write about my feelings and or moods about different things.
How would you describe your sound?
-A way I would describe my sound would be soft yet confident. Kind of a weird combination but it works.
Your single “I Ain’t No Taylor Swift” debuted as a #1 Breakout on Billboard. How did it feel to get such a good reception for your
-I was so happy knowing that a large number of people really enjoyed listening to the music that I created. I don’t just make music for myself. I definitely keep my listeners in mind.
Did you ever expect to blow up in such a big way?
-I knew that the song was great but to be on the billboard charts that quick blew my mind and has really made me work harder to be back on that chart once again.
You just released “Dull” and had the opportunity to perform the song live. How do your songs change from the studio to the stage?
– It doesn’t change much but I definitely get jitters knowing that I am performing live rather than being in a booth.
Can you tell us where your inspiration for “Dull” came from?
-Dull is about past relationships of mine. I have moved on from them but I know that there are people out there that can’t do the same. I made the song to encourage people to make that move and enjoy life.
What’s your creative process like when you’re initially writing a song?
-I love to create music when I’m in my feelings or moods.
How does that change when you’re actually in the studio?
– I feel excited when I am creating my music. I still need to get the feel of the lyrics and really show it in the music when I’m recording.
What is your favorite part about being a songwriter and a performer?
-I love being able to make an impact on people that I don’t even know. It just makes me feel good knowing that other people feel good.
Can we expect to see an album from you sometime soon?
-No, no album yet. However, what you can expect from me are more singles. But who knows maybe soon we’ll be working on an album as well.

What advice would you give to someone who’s just getting started as a musician?
