BTS band’s “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”: We need a Christmas album
What’s better than a BTS album? A BTS Christmas album, duh! The K-pop sensation performed their rendition of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” on Disney Holiday Singalong – and fans are left wishing for a Christmas album!
Keeping the fuzzy spirit of Christmas alive, BTS performed a cover of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” at ABC’s Disney Holiday Singalong. Jin, V, Jungkook, Jimin, RM, and J-Hope were dressed in their Christmas gear and looked dapper as ever. The only member missing was Suga who is taking a short break to recover from his shoulder surgery.
Each member of the group added their own twist to the classic Christmas melody while keeping up the bright & cheery ambiance in their performance. The network also released exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage of the group’s preparation leading up to the show.
In the clip, the six can be seen laughing & acting silly. RM even referenced the reigning queen of Christmas music, Mariah Carey. He said, “at least in my heart, I feel like Mariah Carey” while practicing vocals.
Where can you watch the special?
ABC’s hit Disney Family Singalong franchise’s third special episode premiered on November 30th. The holiday-themed singalong lasted an hour and was hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The musical special also featured performances from Katy Perry, Pink, Chloe x Halle, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Ciara, Kerry Washington, Hayley Erbert, Julianne Hough, Leslie Odom Jr., & Adam Lambert.
While you can catch the previous episodes of Disney Family Singalong on Disney+, the holiday special isn’t available on the streaming platform yet. According to Decider, you can stream the holiday special on Hulu, where it will be available until December 8th. People with cable log-in can head over to ABC’s official website and watch the episode.
The band’s Christmas album might still be in the works (at least we hope it is) but the holiday cheer has only just begun for their fans. BTS recently released their new album BE and it is already breaking records.
BTS just made big moves with the release of their brand new album BE. The album’s lead single “Life Goes On” clocked 14.9 million US streams and soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in its first week. It is a history-making accolade for BTS as their song became the first-ever Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 that is composed primarily in the Korean language.
Not only that, but it became the group’s third consecutive number one in just three months after “Dynamite” in September and “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” with Jason Derulo & Jawsh 685 in October.
Moreover, Billboard reported the K-pop giant broke its own record of most simultaneous placements on the Hot 100 chart. Seven songs from their BE album “Life Goes On”, “Dynamite”, “Blue & Grey”, “Stay”, “Fly To My Room”, “Telepathy”, &“Dis-ease” charted in a single week.
In an interview with Esquire, BTS discussed what it’s like to be successful in the U.S. Suga explained BTS is proud of their success and added: “When I dreamed of becoming an artist, I listened to pop and watched all the awards shows in the United States. Being successful and being a hit in the U. S. is, of course, such an honor as an artist”.
From topping Billboard charts to gaining a Grammy nomination, BTS has had a very busy year. These South Korean superstars have cemented a huge international fanbase in recent years and have amassed many “first-ever” titles to their name. And this is just the starting, there’s no telling how far the septet will go!
