Do you need a film to make a soundtrack? The story of composer Borrtex
We all know the moment when we’re watching a movie and suddenly get touched by a beautiful soundtrack which underlines the powerful and emotional side of the story in the film. But sometimes the movie is your life and the soundtrack is the music you listen to on a daily basis. This aspiring classical music composer Borrtex creates cinematic uplifting piano songs that can be the perfect addition to your life’s soundtrack.
Daniel Bordovsky, known by his artist name Borrtex is twenty one year old talented composer from the Czech Republic, currently based in Prague. He doesn’t really score films, but his work is characteristic in connecting the sounds of modern classical music with catchy melodies typical more for soundtracks.
His story begins back in 2017 when he had the amazing opportunity to fly over to Los Angeles for the very first time as a filmmaker and as a crew member for a short documentary about Hollywood studios. After meeting Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Danny Elfman and other world-wide known Academy Award winning film composers, he came back to his hometown and decided to start producing his own original musical work.
Since then, Borrtex has celebrated numerous success milestones such as gaining millions of streams and getting commercial placements in projects of global brands, and even landing a licensing deal for an upcoming Netflix project. Yet, he doesn’t score movies. He just makes music and then, it’s those movie companies, brands and other international organizations who are coming to him, wanting to use his work commercially.
Is this the new business model for the film industry? We have to keep in mind that licensing placements will never replace the beauty of an original motion picture soundtrack composition, but it’s true that this method is a great way for new artists to get the deserved exposure.
You can listen to Borrtex’s peaceful cinematic work anywhere online through music streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and others. Daniel is releasing a new piano solo album Harmony on 20th of December, 2020.
