Are Ryan Murphy and his fellow 'Glee' creators backing out of the college fund promise for son of the late Naya Rivera? Read the allegations from her dad.

Is Ryan Murphy lying about setting up a college fund for Naya Rivera’s son?

The death of actress Naya Rivera remains a tragedy from a year of endless tragedies, 2020. As we all remember, the former Glee star was out on a boat with her son. It’s believed that, while swimming, the pair were caught in a strong current. Naya Rivera was able to save her son, getting him back on their boat where he was found safely napping, but was unable to save herself.

Days later, her body was found and Rivera’s former Glee co-stars went to the shore of Lake Piru on the day she was recovered to pay their last respects to their fallen friend. Over the holidays of 2020, the Glee cast did a charity drive that they called Snixxmas, which raised money for the Alexandria House in Rivera’s honor.

In the aftermath of the death of Naya Rivera, Glee creator Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan announced that they were going to set up a college fund for Rivera’s son, Josey. They announced this in July 2020, after Rivera’s death, eight months later, the father of Naya Rivera said that they haven’t heard anything about this college fund for the late actress’ son.

What George Rivera said

After the death of Naya Rivera, Murphy, Falchuk, and Brennan said in a statement, “Our hearts go out to her family, especially her mom, Yolanda, who was a big part of the Glee family, and her son Josey. The three of us are currently in the process of creating a college fund for the beautiful son Naya loved most of all.” As stated, it has been eight months since then.

According to George Rivera, who took to social media on Tuesday, he said that the family hasn’t heard a word about the college fund for the son of Naya Rivera. Rivera, in response to a tweet praising the three Glee creators, “Everyone needs to know what Ryan Murphy really did … or didn’t do !!! I’m about to blow up this story …. and make sure he knows that I know ….”

Responding to another tweet, Rivera said, “When you are part of the Hollywood elite, some people treat others as they are ‘less than’. [They] vocalize a good game , but it’s as shallow as the sets on stage that they create. Promises made in public, only to fade with time and excuses … even in an unexplainable tragedy.”

What Ryan Murphy said

An hour after George Rivera took to Twitter, Ryan Murphy did the same. He said that he, Falchuk, and Brennan remain committed to setting up a college fund for Naya Rivera’s son. He said that they have been in contact with the Naya Rivera Estate Trust in order to set it up.

“Myself, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan have committed to create a college fund for Naya Rivera’s child Josey through the Naya Rivera Estate Trust. We have been in repeated conversations with the appropriate executors of her estate.” Murphy responded.

Who is telling the truth?

Whether or not this is actually true, we don’t know. Not unless someone associated with the Naya Rivera Estate Trust comes forward themselves to confirm it. Though many people are probably more inclined to side with George Rivera as the father & grandfather to Naya Rivera & her son. Either way, it does go to show that you have to be careful about what you believe in publicity of Hollywood.

What do you think? Do you believe George Rivera about the college fund? Or do you believe Ryan Murphy? Or is the truth somewhere in the middle? Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think about this.
