The cure for that fear of commitment is simple: watch a movie from a franchise. Here are the best movie series you should follow.

Struggling to find another series? Watch these addictive movie franchises

You know how sometimes we want to start a new series, something that will keep us occupied for a number of hours, and hopefully bring new plots in each segment, but we shudder at the commitment of watching an entire series with 10+ episodes?

Well, the cure for that fear of commitment is simple: watch a movie from a franchise instead. This way, if you’re not too keen, you don’t have to watch the next movie in the series & you still get closure. In fact, you don’t have to worry about sitting through all the parts in the franchise if you’re satisfied with where we left things off in a previous movie.

That’s the charm of watching a movie over a series, so we bring you handpicked franchises that you will love.

Mission: Impossible

Tom Cruise has delivered stellar work, one movie after another. He created new standards for an action hero. In all of his work, nothing comes close to the exquisite plots & delivery of the Mission: Impossible movies. Impossible Missions Force, or IMF for short, is a fictional espionage agency, with Ethan Hunt as its star performer.

It’s a treat to watch Tom Cruise as a spy, but unlike Knight and Day, these movies have extraordinary technique, substance, and stunts. Fun fact: Tom Cruise performs most of his stunts across the movies. Our personal favorite? Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, the fourth one in the franchise.

Harry Potter

We know this is an obvious choice for a list of movie franchises, but can you blame us? The creator of the magical world of wizardry spanning Hogwarts & beyond has certainly garnered a lot of criticism for her views lately, but the charm of the magical world & the stories that it carries are valuable beyond a single person’s work.

The Harry Potter franchise has so much to offer, but beyond entertainment, it also offers incredibly useful life lessons. It shows us the strength of friendship, the power of love, the incredible power in facing your fears, showing up as an act of bravery, and so on. Albus Dumbledore also gave us an exquisite life lesson when he said, “Help will always be given at Hogwarts, Harry, to those who ask for it.”

The Conjuring

You may not binge the movies from The Conjuring universe, but they’ll certainly get you hooked. This franchise is also a good choice if you’re new to the horror genre & want to see some masters of the craft at work. The franchise revolves around paranormal investigator couple Ed & Lorraine Warren

It may seem like the plot is very templatized in each movie of the franchise, what differentiates it is the specific version of supernatural inquiry the Warrens lead. With so much talk & visual appearance of the spirits & devils, there’s hardly a dull moment in these movies.

The Hunger Games

Based on the book series by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games is a fiercely feminist story in a dystopian world. A young Katniss Everdeen lives in Panem, a futuristic city controlled by the Capitol. Our protagonist resides in the poorest district & during The Hunger Games, she volunteered as a tribute to save Prim, her little sister.

Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen in the movies, said of the character, “I don’t see how I couldn’t be inspired by this character, I mean I was so inspired by her when I read the books, it’s the reason I wanted to play her. So I think it would be impossible to go four years with this character and not be inspired by her.”
