Fan reactions: They’re not happy with Ken Jennings hosting ‘Jeopardy’

Last night was the first time since the beginning of Jeopardy that we didn’t get to see Alex Trebek. The legendary TV game show is now hosted by another iconic contestant of Jeopardy, Ken Jennings.

Ken Jennings is famous for being the contestant with the most earnings after winning seventy-four times in a row on Jeopardy. Though being good at the game doesn’t mean Jennings is going to be a great host, he was chosen to take late Alex Trebek’s place in the show.

Of course, this Jeopardy host replacement was a difficult change for many and some don’t like change at all. Here’s what the audience thought of Ken Jennings as the new host of Jeopardy.

Shocking

Even though most of us knew Ken Jennings would be hosting Jeopardy, seeing him was shocking for some reason. It’s hard not to see Trebek around.

Big nope

Some people just didn’t like how Jeopardy felt with Ken Jennings and apparently many agree things just aren’t the same without Trebek.

Better luck next time

Most people felt like Ken Jennings’s speech at the beginning of Jeopardy was very moving, but it still wasn’t enough.

It hurts

For fans everywhere, watching Ken Jennings take Alex Trebek’s place in Jeopardy was very hard. After all, we’ve seen Trebek host the show for a long time.

We need a tissue

Jeopardy fans couldn’t hold back their tears as they remembered Alex Trebek. Who could blame them? The man was an idol.

Actually, it’s not so bad

Even though Ken Jennings didn’t automatically steal the hearts of every Jeopardy fan out there, some people actually thought his appearance made the change easier.

Turns out Ken Jennings did a good job as the new host of Jeopardy even when people didn’t want to see the show without Trebek.

Good successor

Some people actually enjoyed seeing Ken Jennings hosting Jeopardy. He did give a very touching presentation and we think Alex Trebek would have approved of him.

    Jennings did a fine job, especially considering that he’s not a professional. I’d be happy to have him succeed Alex on a permanent basis.

    Me and my whole family are so excited to see Ken Jennings host the show. He is doing a great job, in all the little nuances, just the way Alex did. He is absolutely the perfect one to continue the legacy of Jeopardy in Alex Trebek’s absence. We still are getting used to a different voice, but knowing how much this means to Ken Jennings makes this transition a bit easier.

    Ken Jennings is doing an amazing job and does Alex proud, providing normalcy for the viewers in this ever changing world. Jeopardy is a mainstay and Ken fits in perfectly.

      Ken Jennings is trying very hard. It would be impossible to replace Alex but Ken makes it feel more like a continuation rather than a replacement. Ken is part of the Jeopardy family and it is comforting to see his familiar face on stage. There has been enough change lately Ken is keeping the show going with a special remembrance of Alex nightly. Thank you Ken

    Ken Jennings is doing an awesome job! I can’t imagine anybody who could do it better than the show’s greatest winner. He is kind, smart and a great sense of humor.

    Under the circumstances, I think Ken Jennings is doing a very fine job hosting Jeopardy. I don’t think people realize how hard it is. I would like to see him continue.

    NO to Ken Jennings and his inappropriate wheelchair tweet. We need Mo Rocca…smart, funny, hip, kind and does spontaneous appropriate comments ! Ken is hard to look at/watch. All ages love Mo!

    I think Ken is doing an admirable job and contributes a sense of continuity post-Alex because we’re kind of used to seeing him on Jeopardy. However, I find that he talks too fast, making the show feel quite rushed. Ken, please slow down a bit.
