Tricia Brouk and ‘Right Livelihood: A Journey to Here’

Our indie filmmaker of the day is the incredibly talented Tricia Brouk. The multi-hat-wearing artist will be in Los Angeles between June 20th – 27th, 2019 at Laemmle in NOHO for the feature run of her documentary short Right Livelihood: A Journey to Here – winner of Best Documentary Short at The Olympus Film Festival.

Right Livelihood: A Journey to Here centers around Justin Von Bujdoss, a Buddhist Chaplain at Rikers Island who is changing the culture around spiritual care. His mission is to hold space for the inmates at one of the world’s toughest prisons. He also teaches meditation to the correction officers who work in this challenging environment.

The film has already won three awards: Best Documentary Short from the Olympus Film Festival, Award of Merit from the IndieFEST in La Jolla, and Winner at The Global Indie Festival.  

Tricia is a multihyphenate who runs many businesses. Through her many ventures, she enables people to be seen & heard. She works to help people monetize their platforms, share their messages, and change the world.

Tricia’s life purpose is to cultivate strong, successful entrepreneurs. Within theater, film, and television she is an award-winning director, writer, and choreographer. Outside the entertainment industry, she’s an expert at public speaking.

Tricia is also the executive producer of Speakers Who Dare and a TEDx producer. She curates and hosts the Speaker Salon in NYC and The Big Talk (an award-winning podcast on iTunes), and directs & produces the new TV series The Big Talk Over Dinner.

Tricia’s work has been featured on Black Box for ABC, The Affair for Showtime, and Rescue Me on FOX as well as in Lasse Hallstrom’s The Hoax with Richard Gere. She has worked closely with Kate Winslet, Susan Sarandon, Eddie Izzard, Christopher Walken, Steve Buscemi, Bobby Cannavale, Kelly Reilly, Famke Janssen, and her dear friend, the late James Gandolfini.
