The Dumbo Film Festival Screenwriting Competition

Event Horizon Films latest team-up is with the Dumbo Film Festival Screenwriting Competition. This screenwriting competition is intended to assist emerging filmmakers by promoting promising artists and helping them to enter the world film stage. Networking and connectivity is at the core of what they do.

Each reader for the competition is an experienced professional within the industry including award-winning writers, producers, managers and agents. The categories which they will be considering while reading scripts are plot, characterization, format, originality, style, dialogue, pacing and current market potential. Scorecards will be provided after winners are announced.

The grand prize is $500 prize money for feature films or $250 for TV and short film. The grand prize also provides professional consultations from the judges and connections to those within the industry at Virtual Pitch Fest. The runners up for feature and short will get $250 and $150 respectively as well as connections at Virtual Pitch Fest. All finalists will also be given connections at the Virtual Pitch Fest, though no prize money will be awarded to them.
